m= -v/u
∴1/2= -v/60
∴-v = 30
∴ v= -30 cm
now m= 1/3
v = -30 cm
∴m= -v/u
∴ 1/3 = -(-30)/u
∴u= 90cm ans
60cm away. 60-----1/2 x-------1/3 60*1/2=1/3x 30=1/3x 30*3=x 90cm=x
