Given: Masses m1 = 5 kg; m2 = 3 kg; m3 = 2 kg.
Force = 100 N
Find: Tension T1 and T2
Solution:
Equation of force = F = (m1 + m2 + m3) a
100 N = (2+3+5) a
100 = 10 a
Therefore a = 10 m/s²
T1 = F − 2a
T1 = 100 - 2(10)
T1 = 80
T2 = F − 3a
T2 = 100 - 3(10)
T2 = 70
