This is based on concept of refraction,we use here ,
apparent depth of coin /actual depth of coin = R.I of observer medium/R.I of coin medium
generally refractive i ndex of vaccum and air = 1
(15 -3.75)/15 = 1/R.I of water
R.I of water = 15/11.25
=1.33 =4/3
raise in height, h'=15-3.75 = 11.25cm
refractive index,I=h/h'
= 15/11.25
= 1.33
=4/3
