Above equation is unbalanced as no. of Hydroxide ions ( OH ) on Reactant side is 2 and On the product side , it is One...Also Chlorine atom is unbalanced on both sides...
First balance OH ions on both sides...Multiply 2 with NH4OH on the product side , we get the following equation.
Ba(OH)2 + NH4Cl => BaCl2 + 2 ×( NH4OH)
Now OH inos are balanced on both sides But NH4 and Chlorine gets unbalanced...in order to balanced simply multiply 2 with NH4Cl on reactant side...we get the following equation.
Ba(OH)2 + 2NH4Cl => BaCl2 + 2 NH4OH
Now above equation is balanced...
Note that the chemical formula of Barium hyroxide is Ba( OH )2 not Ba(OH)4 as you mentioned in your problem...
