➜Electric Charges are of two types.
By convention (assumption) one is positive and the other is negative.
➜Unlike charges attract each other and the like Charges repel each other.
➜Net electric charges can neither be created nor be destroyed in an isolated system. Thus mean that electric charge is conserved in an isolated system.
➜Charge is Scalar Quantity.
➜Electric charges are quantised (in multiples of e). A net charge is due to accumulation of electrons or removal of electrons. Therefore a net charge Q = ne.
where n is an integer and e = magnitude of charge of electron.
= 1.6×10^-19.
