The value of Kinetic Energy can be negative.
When the object is moving the direction opposite to the direction of the force applied on the object, its displacement becomes negative.
When a displacement becomes negative, the velocity also becomes negative as both are vector quantities.
We know that, KE = 1/2 m
Here, it is the square of the velocity which can never be negative. But, the direction of the velocity in this case is negative.
So, the direction of Kinetic Energy will also be negative.
And also, as KE is a vector quantity, it can be negative.
