Computer viruses and worms are often misunderstood terms. What is the difference between these two terms?
A virus is a program that enters the computer by attaching itself to another program and then spread itself across the system
on the other hand
worms are programs that enter computer networks and replicate themselves
i) Computer Viruses- Virus is a program code that cannot work without being inserted into another program. A virus usually copies itself into the operating systems programs, and from there to the hard disk and any inserted external disks.
ii) Worms- Worms is a distinct program that can run unaided. Once it has entered the system, it keeps on replicating itself and eats up crucial resources such as memory and storage.
