Example: Copper sulphate pentahydrate (CuSO4.5H2O)
Anhydrous salt:
A compound in which all water molecules are removed is called Anhydrous salt.
Example: Heating of Copper sulphate pentahydrate (CuSO4.5H2O) produce anhydrous copper sulphate(CuSO4)
Anhydrous copper sulphate contains water of crystallization and it's formula is cuso4.5h2o
When we heat it , then it loses water of crystallization and becomes white.
Whereas copper sulphate does not contain water of crystallization and it's formula is cuso4.
When we heat it then it is distributed into ions : Cu2+ and So4 (2-)
