Lymph is the fluid that circulates throughout the lymphatic system.
It is formed when the interstitial fluid (the fluid which lies in the interstitial tissues of all body)
is collected through lymph capillaries .
It is then transported through larger lymphatic vessels to lymph node , where it is cleaned by lymphocytes , before emptying ultimately into the right or the left subclavian vein , where it mixes back with the blood .
● Lymph is present in lymphatic vessels.
○ Plasma and lymph is almost similar but lymph has much lower protein than Plasma.
●Plasma is extracellular fluid of blood tissues which is also called as matrix.
○Lymph is an interstitial fluid, present between the cells of a tissue.
●Plasma transport the digested food products like glucose, amino acids, fatty acids, etc.
○Exchange of metabolites, gases and waste products takes place through the lymph.
●Plasma helps in the uniform distribution of heat all over the body, and in conducting heat to skin for dissipation.
○Lymph destroys the invading microorganisms and foreign particles in the lymph nodes.
