x( 41 - x ) = 400
= 41x - x^2 = 400
= x^2 - 41x + 400 = 0
now, we will either split the middle term or solve it by quadratic formula,
By splitting the middle term,
x^2 - 16x - 25x + 400 = 0
= x( x - 16 ) - 25( x - 16 ) = 0
= ( x - 16 ) ( x - 25 ) = 0
Therefore, numbers are, 16 and 25.
