✨✨QUESTION::
YOU ARE PROVIDED WITH 3 SOULTIONS ACIDIC , BASIC AND NEUTRAL, BUT ONLY WITH BLUE LITMUS PAPER. HOW WILL YOU FIND WHICH SOULTION IS ACIDIC, BASIC OR NEUTRAL?
✨✨ANSWER::
✏ First of all, we will take all the three liquids and place them in a beaker.
✏ Then, we will take the blue litmus paper and dip it in all the three solutions separately.
✏ After dipping the litmus paper, the paper will turn red in one solution and that would be considered as an acidic solution because blue litmus paper turns red in acidic solution.
✏ Now, we will test by dipping another litmus into another solution. The paper will not change its colour in both the solutions as we know that blue litmus doesn't change its colour in both basic and neutral solution.
✏ So, as we know that a reaction called neutralization takes place when we mix an acid and a base.
✏ So, as we have identified the acid, now we will take the acidic solution and mix it with both the liquids that were left.
✏ After mixing it , we will observe that in one liquid it will remain the same. Any reaction will not take place. And that liquid would be considered as neutral solution because it didn't react with acid.
✏And finally, we will mix the last solution with acid and we will observe that a reaction takes place between them called the neutralization reaction which gives the product salt and water.
✏So now, we are confirmed about all the solutions which are acidic ,basic and neutral.
