Resource planning is a complex process which involves:
1) Identification and inventory of resources across the reasons of the country this involves serving,mapping,qualitative and quantitative Estimation and measurement of the resources.
2) Evolving a planning structure endowed with appropriate technology, skill and institutional setup for implementing resource development plans.
3) Matching the resource development plans with overall National Development plans.

Resource planning is a widely accepted strategy for the judicious use of resources.This is necessary because resource are limited are unevenly distributed throughout the country.So,in order to conserve resources,we need an approach,a strategy or in simple word -a planning.
Three steps involve in the resource planning in India are.
(I) At first ,Resources are invented and identified.This includes surveying ,mapping ,qualitative and quantitative estimation of resources.
(ii)Planning for judicious use of resources using appropriate skill and institutional set up.
(iii)Matching the overall development plan with national development plan.
