The wave theory of light is the sex of light as an electromagnetic wave. In this theory, light is represented as a spectrum of frequencies, some of which we can see (visible light) and some of which we can't (ultraviolet and infrared light).

*Light is a disturbance from a source that travels as longitudinal mechanical waves through the ether medium that was presumed to prevade all space as mechanical wave requires medium for its propagation.
