Fake news is an extremely dangerous thing. Writing, spreading or promoting fake news should be considered a criminal activity. All it takes is one particularly angry individual to read a fake news article and act upon it with threats of violence or worse. "
"Making fake news illegal is a difficult thing to do as matters of opinion don't need to be based upon
facts - simply emotions or our morals. If we make fake news illegal, what's to say a government
wouldn’t ban anything criticizing or opposing them in order to silence those who don't agree
with them? "

Yes, fake news must be considered a crime. Because there is obviously a lot of misinformation spreading without correct analysis and proof of it. These misinformations are so useless and yet easier to believe. Whoever spreads fake news must be punished as it is a crime under the law. Even during the current COVID-19 crisis, there was misinformation spreading that pets can be infected with the virus. But there is no proof that COVID-19 can infect pets. The misinformer must be punished as he/she must be doing it only to gain fame and publicity by playing with people's lives.
