INERTIA- it is defined as a property by virtue of which an object cannot change its state by itself.
TYPES OF INERTIA-
1.) INERTIA OF REST- the property of an object to oppose any change in its state of rest is called inertia of rest.
example- when an bus or car suddenly starts moving forwards the passengers fall backwards
2.) INERTIA OF MOTION- the property of an object to oppose any change in its state of motion is called INERTIA of motion.
example- when the driver of a bus running at high speed suddenly applies a break the passengers experience a forward push.
3.) INERTIA OF DIRECTION- the property of an object to oppose any change in its state of direction of motion is called inertia of direction.
example- when the fast moving bus moves on the curve on a road the passengers experience an outward push.
