Yes, it is possible. In some conditions, combustion reaction takes place with no flame. We define combustion as a chemical reaction of a material (fuel) with oxygen or an oxidant substance. Appearance of flame in the combustion depends on some factors, such as temperature. A combination of controlling temperature and speed of fuel injection ( as well as using a blend of various substances as fuel) can be applied to find out the optimum and practically feasible conditions for designing a combustion reaction without flame.
