Explanation:
38)Humans have a four-chambered heart and the type of blood circulation is called as double circulation. The blood pumped by the right ventricle enters the pulmonary artery, whereas the left ventricle pumps blood into the aorta. The deoxygenated blood pumped into the pulmonary artery is passed onto the lungs from where the oxygenated blood is carried by the pulmonary veins into the left atrium. This pathway constitutes the pulmonary circulation. The oxygenated blood entering the aorta is carried by a network of arteries, arterioles and capillaries to the tissues from where the de-oxygenated blood is collected by a system of venules, veins and vena cava and emptied into the right atrium. This is the systemic circulation. These two processes are together called as double circulation. This process is necessary because the blood enters twice in the heart in a single cycle. The deoxygenated and the oxygenated blood does not get mixed and the circulation is maintained properly.
37) pH plays a crucial role in a normally functioning digestive tract. In the mouth, pharynx and esophagus, pH is typically about 6.8, very weakly acidic. Saliva controls pH in this region of the digestive tract. ... In the small intestines, the duodenum provides critical pH balancing to activate digestive enzymes.
Bacteria in the mouth create acids after eating through the oxidation of sugar and food particles in the mouth. Tooth decay starts when the mouth's pH is below 5.5. In addition to food particles, masses of bacterial cells bind to the teeth to form dental plaque.
36) baking soda : Solvay process is used for the production of sodium bicarbonate and sodium carbonate industrially. In this process carbon dioxide, water, ammonia and brine solution in its concentrated form, are used as raw materials. This process is used mainly because it is inexpensive and less number of raw materials are used to produce necessary chemicals. The important chemical reaction that is used in the production of baking soda and sodium carbonate is:
CO2+H2o+NH3+Na+ → NaHCO3+NH+4
NaHCO3 → Na2CO3+CO2+H2O
Carbon dioxide produced is recycled to produce NaHCO3
35) Focal length (f ) = -15 cm
Distance of image (v) = -10 cm
1v–1u=1f
1/u = -(1/10) – (1/- 15)
1/u =1/15 – 1/10
1/u = -0.033
u = -30 cm
so the object is placed 30 cm away from the concave lens.
