Mahatma Gandhi has always been an appreciated figure be it for his strong pacifist mindset or for his persistence at doing a task he undertakes . Mahatma Gandhi has always been a person who has believed in himself and who has also been an integral person in our India's journey towards it's rightful freedom . But the most amazing thing about him was , he did all the tasks he undertook with non violence as a his guiding Polaris . He never swayed or swinged and always had his own way of doing things . But if I am asked the three traits which I admire in Mahatma Gandhi , they would be :
☆ His persistence at doing a task he has undertaken - One of the most admirable trait in Mahatma Gandhi was his patience and courage . He was not afraid of being labelled as a black sheep . In those days , when the British were pulling every string of India , possible , it took some courage for people to come forward and take the first step . This step and leap of faith , courage and hope , towards an unknown outcome was taken by Gandhi , who was courageous and persistent enough to take on every obstacle that tried to cease his main goal , which at that time was - To return India , the freedom it rightfully deserves . He had to endure thousands of scars and bruises but he continued to go on doing marches , protests and assemblies that had two terms , which at that time was thought to be oxymorons - Non violence and freedom , as its main objectives . Not only that but he persistently tried to convince people about his goal even if he had a feeling that they would not be willing to support him on his cause . This persistency at doing things , eventually made him achieve the one thing he fought for , which was freedom .
☆ He had a special ability of forgiving people for their mistakes , however big the mistakes might be . This was a very great trait , which people generally seldom possess and which indicated at his mind's maturity level , which according to me was quite high . He was a man of his words , who was kind and who thought that it - " I destroy my enemies , when I make them my friends " . This was a quite unique attribute of him and another of the reasons I like and respect him . Everyone loved him for this trait , and this furthermore proves the fact that " there is much more to a person , than his outer physique " .
☆ Another one of the reasons I like Mahatma Gandhi is that he had a lot of self faith , confidence and also pacifistic way of thinking . His moral values were tight and intact and he never let his looks , make him feel bad about them . These days where technology has become entangled with our life strings people rarely look at the real person standing before them , due to the person creating a persona not of their own . Mahatma Gandhi can be a great inspiration to such people , because he seldom cared for his looks . He as a barrister , could have afforded the comfort of wearing a crisp suit and shirt but instead he chose to fight with India to its journey towards freedom . He was able to be as simple as he was , because he had a faith that when a person really has something good in them , their physical physique will rarely matter . This I think was a great way of looking at life .
Even though there are more attributes to Mahatma Gandhi , these were the main attributes , as these traits of his has made our India achieve the freedom , it has now .

Good morning everyone! I'm glad to get the opportunity to deliver a speech on the topic of the reasons for what I like Gandhiji.
As we all know, Gandhiji was born in Porbandar of Gujrat on 2nd October,1869. He started his education in a local school and passed the Entrance Examination at the age of 17. After that he left for the foreign land to study bar-at-law. In 1915, he came back to India and joined the freedom movement.
The very first reason for which I have a great regard to him is his love for his native country. Many people forget their own land after getting fame in abroad. But Gandhiji was an exception. After passing bar-at-law he returned to his own country and started legal practice in Mumbai High Court. Besides, his contribution to the freedom movement proves how much he was concerned about the independence of India.
Secondly, he had a huge place in his heart for the backwards society. Not only for the Indians he felt for everyone who was in poor condition. When he went to South Africa he fought for the inhabitants of South Africa who were known as emigrated Indians(Kala Aadmi). He started a movement in a non-violant way against their oppression and injustice towards the Kala Aadmi.
Last but not the least, his thoughts of non-violent movements motivate me a lot. He was the first freedom fighter who taught us to protest with non-violence. His law of 'Ahimsha' inspired many youth to join the movement.
We should follow his principals and idealism of peace and harmony to be successful in our lives and for constructing a great Nation.
Thank you!
