Let take a point outside the circle and draw 2 tangents to the circle touching the outer point.

> CD & CE are the tangents to the first circle.
To prove that they subtend equal angles at the centre:
✓Join AE & AD.
✓Join AC
✓Because angle d & c is 90°,(#) the other 2 angles must be equal (using RHS congruence)
✓Thus we have proved that they subtend equal angles at the centre.
When they subtend equal angles at the centre, they are equally inclined to the line segment joining the centre to the point.
