Use this equation: M1 * V1 = M2 * V2
(5) * x = (1) * (50)
Solving for x gives:
x = 50/5 = 10 mL of the original solution. just add 40 mL of water to dilute to the desired volume.
V1*S1=V2*S2 (where V means volume, and S means Strength)
here V1=5M, V2=1M, S2=50ml, S1=x(let)
so 5*x=1*50
or x=10
so u need to and (50-10)=40ml of water to the 5M of Na Cl.
