⭕The ovum can be defined as the reproductive cell of female.
⭕The male reproductive cell is sperm.
⭕In reproduction process, male and female gametes which are ovum and sperm fuse with each other to form a new cell named zygote.
⭕The fusion of male and female gametes is known as fertilisation.
⭕Zygote then forms embryo and finally embryo forms a new organism.
⭕So, we can say that ovum is the initial state of zygote and after the fusion of sperm with it, our forms zygote.
