as we know, increase in temperature leads to increase in K.E. so, K.E and temperature are directly proportional
so , when we heat the liquid, temperature increases and particles gain K.E ans so collisions become harsh and inter particle force of attraction decreases and inter particle spacing increases and then the water starts to boil
