1) Six Maximum and minimum thermometer - Six's thermometer is a registering thermometer which can record the maximum and minimum temperatures reached over a period of time, for example 24 hours. It is used to record the extremes of temperature at a location, for instance in meteorology and horticulture.
maximum thermometer A thermometer that records the highest temperature to which it has been exposed (e.g. by allowing a rise of mercury past a restriction in the tube, but preventing the mercury's return on contraction). It is most commonly used to record maximum daily temperatures. minimum thermometer A thermometer that records the lowest temperature to which it has been exposed (e.g. by allowing a fall of mercury past a restriction in the tube, but preventing the mercury's return on expansion). It is most commonly used to record minimum daily temperatures.
2) Mercury Barometer - A mercury barometer is used to calibrate and check aneroid barometers. Calibration can be, for example, in terms of atmospheric pressure or altitude above sea level. The concept of altitude above sea level, based on barometric pressure, is used to create one type of aircraft altimeter.
3)Aneroid Barometer - An aneroid barometer is an instrument used for measuring pressure as a method that does not involve liquid. Invented in 1844 by French scientist Lucien Vidi, the aneroid barometer uses a small, flexible metal box called an aneroid cell (capsule), which is made from an alloy of beryllium and copper. A barometer is a scientific instrument that is used to measure air pressure in a certain environment. Pressure tendency can forecast short term changes in the weather. Many measurements of air pressure are used within surface weather analysis to help find surface troughs, pressure systems and frontal boundaries.
4) Wind Vane - A wind vane (also known as a weathervane) is an instrument that tells you the wind direction. Specifically, a wind vane lets you know what direction the wind is coming from.
5) Anemometer - An anemometer is an instrument that measures wind speed and wind pressure. Anemometers are important tools for meteorologists, who study weather patterns. They are also important to the work of physicists, who study the way air moves.
6) Rain Gauge - A rain gauge is a meteorological instrument to measure the precipitating rain in a given amount of time per unit area. The instrument consists of a collection container which is placed in an open area.
7) Hygrometer - Hygrometer, instrument used in meteorological science to measure the humidity, or amount of water vapour in the air. Several major types of hygrometers are used to measure humidity.
