We know that,
Boyle's law of gases states that at constant temperature, the pressure of a gas is inversely proportional to the volume.
i.e.,
⟹ P ∝ 1/V
⟹ PV = constant
⟹ P₁V₁ = P₂V₂
⟹ (100)(52) = (138.32)(V₂)
⟹ 5200/138.32 = V₂
⟹ 37.5 m³ = V₂
∴ The volume of the gas decreases to 37.5 m³.
