Hello,
3 weeks ago, my mother has switched from injecting 2x a day to 3x a day and it's very difficult for her body to accommodate.
Although her night hypoglycaemias have decreased, she is no prone to hypos 3-4x during the day! Needless to say this not only affects her body but also her emotional health (feeling insecure and isolated).
Is there anybody out there who had similar trouble with 3 injections per day?
I'd appreciate any of your comments.
Update:She is not using an insulin pump and there is no guarantee my mum's country's medical service will cover it.
I forgot to add that in addition to the 'normal' shots, she is now also injecting an additional morning one. Maybe a slightly faster or slower than the others. I apologise for the incomplete details.

Tell your mom to look into getting an insulin pump. I works well for people who can't get the control with shots and insurance covers it.
This is normal, I went through this with my husband. It takes alot of trial and error to find the right insulin and the right doses. If she is having 3-4 hypo episodes during the day she may be taking too much insulin. There is a formula diabetics use to calculate how much insulin they need based on thier current BG level and the amount of carbs they ate. Have Mom ask her doctor about it. Good luck.
They probably have her on 3x/day to cover mealtime carbs, but maybe she needs to be adjusted down a bit. Have her look into getting an insulin pump. Then she can work with a diabetes educator to set her baselines at perfect levels at all times of day and she can program in her carbs and it will calculate exactly how much insulin she needs. It will be great freedom for her. I use a Minimed pump...www.minimed.com
Balance the amount of insulin taken with the food eaten.
