Actually as we know pressure depends upon the force applied over an area.Pressure is directly proportional to the force because as the force increases the pressure also increases.
While, when the area decreases the pressure increases so pressure is inversely proportional to the area.

as the area increases the pressure decreases as it will be applied on to a very large area dud to which the pressure will me more uniformly spreadd over that large area hence pressure decreases
But in case if the area is small the pressure increases as the pressure will be applied onto a very small area and the pressure will not be spread more as the srea will be small resulting in more pressure
