the given reaction will give 2 moles of methanal ie HCHO

what u have done wrong is that u have made a bond between the 2 carbons whereas actually there will be no bond between them during the formation of intermediate
one oxygen will be shared by the 2 carbons during the intermediate formation and other 2 oxygen in peroxide linkage but at the ends they will be attached to the carbons
