Pigments other than chlorophyll include carotenoids (which are red, yellow and orange) and phycobilins. Phycobilins include phycocyanin, which imparts a bluish color to "blue-green algea," also known as "cynanobacteria," and phycoerythrin, which gives a reddish color to red algae.
