I have a Right Paracentral disc extrusion/annular fissure w/ impingement on both nerve root sides on my L5-S1, and a Broad based Disc Bulge/annular fissure w/ bilateral forminal stenosis and abutment on both nerve roots sides on L4-L5. Should I bypass just the cortisone shot and go straight to a neurosurgereon? Also, do cortisone shots just cover the pain or will it possibly fix my issue?

No, cortisone injections just ease the pain for awhile, if they work at all, for some
people they don't help at all. In no way will it do any thing to repair anything. I would
bypass it all and go to a neurosurgeon, they are brain and spine wizards, it is all they do.You will be in good hands with a neuro.
Cortisone is basically for inflammation. I have had back problems since I was 12 and with what you have going on, I would highly recommend an orthopedic surgeon. I had a disc break and I couldn`t walk, sit or do anything. My ortho surgeon operated and I walked out of the hospital the next day. I also massively ruptured a disc, the same surgeon operated and I walked out of the hospital the next day. Cortisone is not going to fix serious back problems or really any problems. It can also make bones brittle. Good luck.
