area of triangle by heron's formula:
√s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)
Step-by-step explanation:
the one side of equilateral triangle =12 cm
heron's formula :
√s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)
a,b,c are sides of triangle
s=semi-perimeter=a+b+c/2=12+12+12/2=18cm
area=√18(18-12)(18-12)(18-12)
=√18×6×6×6
=√3×6×6×6×6
=36√3 sq.cm
this was the area of equilateral triangle
now for isosceles triangle
area of triangle by heron's formula=
√s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)
here s is the semi perimeter and a,b,c are the sides of triangle
let the two sides of triangle=12cm
and perimeter =30cm
an isosceles triangle two sides are equal
so a=b=12cm
perimeter= 30cm
and third side be x
12+12+x=30cm
24+x=30cm
x=30-24
x=6cm
now the semi perimeter =15cm
area of triangle by using heron's formula:
√s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)
=√15(15-12)(15-12)(15-6)cm sq.
=√15×3×3×9cm sq.
=√5×3×3×3×3×3cm sq
=√3sq.×3sq×3×5cm sq
=3×3×√3×5cm sq
=9√15cm sq.
