Christmas is a festival which celebrates the birth of Jesus, yet it has always been a unique festival. However, it is celebrated all over the world with no barriers of nationality and social status. We do not know the date of birth of Jesus Christ but most Christians hold the celebration on 25 December.
The very idea of celebrating Christmas could immediately bring to your minds certain traditions associated with it: Christmas carols, the Christmas tree illuminated with candles or lights, the Christmas pudding, plum cake and turkey, and above all Santa Claus. No Christmas talk would ever be complete without the legendary Santa Claus. It is believed that he is a great friend of children and comes down the chimney wearing a red costume. He lives in the North Pole and brings gifts for children.
