Speed = 45km/hr
Time= 3hrs 20mins = 3+ 1/3= 10/3 hrs
Distance = Speed *Time
= 45 * 10/3
= 150 km
Case 2:
Speed= 50km/hr
Distance = Same as case 1 = 150km
Time = Distance/Speed
= 150/50
= 3hrs
So, the time taken is 3 hours...
We have
time (t) = 3hr 20min
= (3+1/3)hr
avg. speed (u) = 45 km/hr
let the distacne be d
Using the formula
Distance = speed × time we get,
d = 45 × (3+⅓) km/hr............(1)
and letting the second speed (u)= 50
And time 't'
d = 50 × t...........(2)
deviding the equation 1 by 2 we get,
1 = 9/10 × 10/3t
or, 1 = 90/30t
or, 1 = 3/t
or, t = 3hr
So if the bus covers the same distance with speed 50km/hr them it would take 3 hrs to cover.
That's it
Hope it helped (ㆁωㆁ*)
