Theres a equation.
A(inverse) = [adjoint(A)]/[Determinat(A)]
Determinat (A) =1(1-(-3)) -(-1)(2-(-3)) +1(2-1)
=4+5+1=10.
and given Matrix B has a coefficient of 1/10.
Meaning. B= [adjoint(A)]/[10] =[adjoint of A]/[Determinant of A]
Since determinat is 10. we can find the value of Alpha by comparing it with adjoint A.
alpha's position in B is (2,3).
i.e (2,3) in adjoint A.
a(2,3) in adjoint A is equal to.
negative determinant of (1,1)(1,2) (3,1)(3,2)
ie. = -[1(1) - (1)(-1)]=-[1+1]=-2.
and the answer is -2.
Yes!
Hope it helps...
