Answer: heyyy~
the first car will travel 10 × 100=1000 m in 100 sec
total distance now=1000+1000=2000m
now this distance is to be covered in 100 sec
2000/100=20sec
20m/s

Given info : A car P is moving with a speed of 10 m/s on a straight road. another car's driver wishes to overtake the car P in 100 s. if the 2nd car is 1 km behind the car P.
To find : with what constant speed of the second car should move ?
solution : distance covered by car P in 100s . S = speed of car P × time
= 10 m/s × 100s = 1000 m
let the speed of second car is v.
To overtake the car P,
the distance covered by the second car = distance between the cars + distance covered by car P
⇒ speed of the second car × time = 1 km + 1000 m = 1000 m + 1000 m = 2000 m
⇒ v × 100s = 2000 m
⇒ v = 2000m/100s = 20 m/s
therefore the speed of the second car should be 20 m/s.
