Assume the cost price of the watch = Rs CP
Loss 10 % => Selling price = (1- 0.1) CP = 0.9 CP
ATQ
If selling price = 0.9 CP + 70 => Gain 4 %
Gain 4% = (Selling price - CP)x100/CP
(0.9 CP + 70 - CP) x 100/CP = 4
90 + 7000/CP - 100 = 4
7000/CP = 14
CP = 7000/14
[tex]\small\green{ \underline{\tt\fbox{cp = rs500}}}[/tex]
[tex]\small\purple{ \underline{\tt\fbox{Hence the cost price of the watch is Rs 500.}}}[/tex]
