here is the experiment,
AIM : To separate the dyes present in ink.
MATERIALS REQUIRED :
PRINCIPLE : Selectively Adsorption.
PROCEDURE :
OBSERVATION : we can find different colours (based on the ink) on the filter paper.
CONCLUSION : by capillary action the water slowly moves upwards passing through the ink spot. (Ink is a mixture of water in dye)
usually a dye is a mixture of two or more colours. so the different colours move with different velocities and settle at different heights on the paper.
the coloured component that is more soluble in water rises faster and settles at the top.
hence we can find the coloured components present in the ink.
