Given :-
Length of a rectangular piece of land = 18 m
The area of this rectangular piece of land = 440m²
Then , the measure of it's breadth will be :-
[tex] = l \times b = 440 {m}^{2} [/tex]
[tex]18 \times b = 440[/tex]
[tex]b = \frac{440}{18} [/tex]
[tex]\color{hotpink}b = 24.4[/tex]
The breadth of this rectangle is 24.4 m .
Length of one side of a square = 21 m
The area of this square :-
[tex] = side \times side[/tex]
[tex] = 21 \times 21[/tex]
[tex]\color{hotpink} =441 {m}^{2} [/tex]
As the area of the rectangular piece of land is smaller than the area of the squarical swimming pool , it cannot be used to make the square shaped swimming pool .
∴ No , this rectangular piece of land can't be used to make the square swimming pool as it's area is smaller than that of the swimming pool's .
