Question :
[tex] \tt \frac{5x + 2}{6x - 2} = \frac{2}{3} [/tex]
solve and verify the equation.
Solution :
[tex] \tt \frac{5x + 2}{6x - 2} = \frac{2}{3} [/tex]
Cross multiplying
[tex]\tt \implies [/tex] 3(5x+2) = 2(6x-2)
[tex]\tt \implies [/tex] 15 x + 6 = 12x - 4
[tex]\tt \implies [/tex] 15x -12x = - 4 - 6
[tex]\tt \implies [/tex] 3x = -10
[tex]\tt \implies [/tex] x = [tex]\tt \frac{-10}{3} [/tex]
Verification :
[tex] \tt \frac{5x + 2}{6x - 2} = \frac{2}{3} [/tex]
L.H.S.
[tex] \tt \implies \frac{5x + 2}{6x - 2} [/tex]
putting obtained value of x
[tex] \tt \implies \frac{5(\frac{-10}{3}) + 2}{6(\frac{-10}{3}) - 2} [/tex]
[tex] \tt \implies \frac{\frac{-50}{3} + 2}{-20- 2} [/tex]
[tex] \tt \implies \frac{\frac{-50+6}{3}}{-22} [/tex]
[tex] \tt \implies \frac{\frac{-44}{3}}{-22} [/tex]
[tex] \tt \implies \frac{2}{3} [/tex]
[tex]\tt \implies [/tex] R.H.S
Hence verified.
