The mean of 10 observations is 14, what will be the new mean will be 15 by adding a new observation 25
Given:
To Find:
Formula for Mean:
[tex]\text{Mean}=\dfrac{\text{sum of all the obervations}}{\text{number of the observations}}[/tex]
Step 1:
Find Sum of 10 observations:
Sum of 10 observations = Number of observations x Mean
Sum of 10 observations = 10 x 14 = 140
Step 2:
Find New Sum of observations by adding 25
New Sum of observations = 140 + 25 = 165
Step 3:
Add 1 in 10 to find new number of observations
Number of Observation 10 + 1 = 11
Step 4:
Find New Mean by dividing new Sum of observations (165) by new number of observations (11)
New Mean = 165/11
=> New Mean = 15
The mean of 10 observations is 14, what will be the new mean will be 15 by adding a new observation 25
