Signals from nervous system, e.g., sympathetic nerve impulses from spinal cord to adrenal medulla cause release of epinephrine.
Chemical changes in the blood, e.g., blood Ca2+ level regulates secretion of parathyroid hormone (PTH).
Other hormone, e.g., TSH from anterior pituitary gland stimulates release of thyroxin from thyroid gland.
