Length of chord l=2x cm
Length of half chord=x cm
According to pythagoras theorem, in right angled triangle
(Hypotenuse)^2=(side 1)^2+(side 2)^2
17^2=x^2+8^2
289=x^2+64
x^2=225
x=15cm
Length of chord=2x=30cm
