we know that R=2 f
therefore, f=R/2
f=40/2
f=20 cm
by applying mirror formula,
1/f=1/v+1/u
1/f =1/2u + 1/u (from equation 1)

1/20= 3u/2u²
1/20=3/2u
2u=3×20
u=(3×20)/2
u=3×10
u=30 cm
from equation 1 we know that,
v=2u
∴ v=2×30
