Question :
The units digit of a two-digit number is 3 and seven times the sum of the digits is the
number itself. Find the number.
Given :
Unit digit of a two digit no. = 3
Seven times the sum of the digits = No itself.
To find :
The number.
Solution :
Let the tens digit of that number be y
The number will be = 10y + 3
According to the Question,
7 ( y + 3) = 10y + 3
Now, we shall solve this linear equation in one variable.
7 ( y + 3) = 10y + 3
=> 7y + 21 = 10y + 3
=> 3y = 18
=> y = 6
If y = 6 the number will be 63. [Ans]
Verification :
LHS = 7 (6 + 3)
= 7 × 9
= 63
= RHS
