a)Blood group O- is universal donor because it neither has antigen for blood group nor it has the antigen for Rh factor. Hence, it will not invoke any immunogenic response.
b)AB+ is universal acceptor because it has both the antibodies, anti-A and anti-B as well as Rh antigen.
c) Group O is often referred to as the universal red cell donor. Group AB individuals have neither anti-A nor anti-B antibodies in their plasma. Group AB plasma can therefore be given to patients of any ABO blood group and is often referred to as the universal plasma donor.
