hmmm, im thinkin franklin, but its sure to be a good fight!!
Im still going with franklin, i know if lutter gets him down and under control he has a very good chance of finishing the fight. that being said lutter isnt a very good wrestler, franklin is good at keeping the fight standing, and the most important thing is franklin is ALLOT stronger than lutter. lutter is average at best for a 185 while franklin is a huge 185 and very strong, only guy bigger/stronger is okami. I just dont think lutter will be able to get franklin down and even if he does i think franklin will be up in no time.
I think this could go either way. I like Lutter on the ground and Franklin standing. I think that Lutter may be a little underrated while Frankling is way over rated. I think that Franklin was able to win his championship because he was in the right place at the right time. The middleweight division was weak when he came in and won his title he was beating guys that were good but by no means elite Anderson Silva/ Dan Henderson type fighters. I think Franklin was the best of what was there but my no means a top notch fighter.
I'm not so sure. Franklins got ground game when he needs it. and he's pretty good at keeping the fight standing anyways. However, if memory serves Lutter did get Sylvia in a submission. Even still I also remember Ken Shamrock's attempt at a heel hook on Rich Franklin. Franklin got out of that one alright, so I don't know if Lutter has a lot going for him into this one...
I actually have been saying this for a while. I think Rich Franklin is going to try to come out swinging and thinks this will be a push over fight. Well I think he is going to get sloppy and taken down very quick. From there I see Lutter getting a submission and taking it home. I got Lutter by rear naked choke in the FIRST ROUND!
I'm with you! I never bet on guys known for their striking when put against BJJ black belts. They leave an arm, neck, or leg hanging out there just a little bit and the fight could be over. Plus, we are talking about a guy who is the closest I've ever seen to taking down The Spider (who destroyed Rich twice). The reason he went for his 1/15 arm bar instead of continuing to pound his face is beyond me. Had too much faith in his jits and not enough in his hands I guess.
