Were their Lesbians in ancient rome or bisexuals?
Verified answer
Homosexuality originated the same time heterosexuality did. Have you ever looked up LGBT history? Well, it begins 10,000 B.C.E, first human civilization. Homosexuality used to be accepted back in the days, it was seen as something wonderful. Gay marriages used to be performed in many countries. Your probably thinking what happened. Well, religion happened.
Lesbianism In Ancient Rome
There really were gays and lesbians in ancient times and most cultures. In some cultures it was highly accepted for men to be lovers and women were just for procreation. In ancient Greek culture there were also teen boys who had older men as "mentors" in the ways of the world including sex.
Absolutely
Both Greece and Rome were multisexual
that is one reason the Jews and Christians saw them as evil and godless
"lesbos" was an island supposedly ruled by women only
Sex is very complicated for humans and is expressed in many ways, not just for reproduction
We are not salmon that swim upstream, spawn and die
The Greeks and Romans were actually quite famous for their acceptance of gays, lesbians and bisexuals. From what I understand they were even admired and openly sought as partners.
The Goddess of wisdom Athena was know to be bisexual and she also had several human lesbian lovers .
here's a list of goddesses and Gods that were part of the lgbt community .

you know theres such things as abbreviations, instead of writing out, lesbian gay bisexual and transgender people, you can simply type LGBT, see how simple that is, anyway, let me read your question ... i think homophobia comes from people not understanding. they dont understand how a man could love another man, all they think about is sex, whose the sex crazed one now? they cant fathom that two men or women could genuinely love each other. but the saddest part is that they dont understad that its not for them to understand, cuz theyre not gay. see what im saying. and whats this about an uncle? the sky is blue, yeah thats how random the uncle question was, anyway, i too was also surprised that in new guinea homosexuality was seen as something special before the introduction of christianity, but we have to keep in mind that religion doesnt save, religion doesnt judge us, religion doesnt choose whether we go to hell or heaven, god does, god everything, so i think as long as were on good terms with god himself, were good.
There have been gays and bisexuals since the beginning, it's not anything new
Yes But they where not nearly open about such this topic as homosexuals are today. They sometimes meeted at secret Clubs, staying out of government issues. There is very little known except, well, lets just say they had some very colorful pottery art that they don't teach in art class. Wink Wink
