The tiny pores present in the surface of leaves are called stomata.
Two function of stomata are -
i) Control exchange of gases ( Co2 and O2)
ii) Helps in transpirarion through which leaves can get rid of excess water
MORE TO KNOW -
• The opening and closing of stomata are the function of gaurd cell.
• When the water in gaurd cell flows, it swell and the stomata closes
• When the water in gaurd cell stops flowing it shrink and the stomata opens.
