Yup they were created by Voldemort because they were part of his soul that was ripped apart every time he killed someone. So basically he was immortal.
There were 7: the diary, Voldemort's snake Nagini, Marvolo's Ring, Salazar Slytherin's Locket, Helga Hufflepuff's Cup, one in Voldemort, and one in Harry.
1. Horcruxes are objects in which you can put a part of your life so that you don't die if "you" get killed, because a part of you still lives.
2. Yes, they were created by Voldemort.
3. He split his life in seven parts, if I remember well, which means six horcruxes.
4. The diary was one of them, that's right. He also chose an object from each team (such as the ring, but I can't remember the other ones) and his ***SPOILER ALERT*** snake.
Riddles diary the ring inside the cup evil cup er sumthin. It aparently replicates the soul which means as long as the seven or so items aren't destroyed then you will have immortality.!!!.. one of the items must be Harry because of its scar. that means if harry dies then voldy dies meaning that that is why he says only i can live forever because they are one in the same! oMg lol...myeah horcruxes i've done a couple myself
he created 7 and ive been reading deathly hollows and the only 1 ive heard of so far is the one locket necklace thing but i havnt finished the book yet
I've read the books but I remember
The diary.
The ring.
