A cell consists of three parts: the cell membrane, the nucleus, and, between the two, the cytoplasm. Within the cytoplasm lie intricate arrangements of fine fibers and hundreds or even thousands of miniscule but distinct structures called organelles.
The main components that are present in all types of cells are:
Plasma membrane: The thin semi-permeable membrane that forms an outer-covering.
Cytoplasm: The jelly like substance present between the plasma membrane and the nucleus.
Nucleus: The spherical body which controls the functions of the cell.
