The number of vertices in the regular hexagon = 6 To form a triangle, we need choose 3 vertices out of 6 vertices of a hexagon Number of ways to choose 3 vertices = 6C3 = 20 So, Total number of triangles can be formed by choosing 3 vertices = 20 Number of equilateral triangles can be formed by choosing 3 vertices = 2 Now, ∴ Probability that the triangle with 3 vertices is equilateral triangle = 2/20 =1/10
